Rosetti’s Cafe is located in the same building with one of the best displays of fresh seafood on the Gulf Coast. Drop in to the sea food shop and select what you want to eat. We selected two small Red Fish fillets for a total of about one pound. They prepared the filets, we paid, they wrapped up the filets and then on to the cafe. The Cafe was a few steps away from the fish market just down the corridor.
We went to the counter and selected two sides and asked them to blacken the fish. After a short wait, they delivered to our table perfectly prepared fish with two delicious sides. The food was good and the experience of selecting our own fresh fish was perhaps the best part.
The next time we went back with friends and tried the red snapper which was cooked to perfection for us. I like blackened fish and it was great. My wife had crab legs that were frozen before they slowly heated them up and cooked them. She things they may be the best she has had and believe me we are crab experts. The butter they supplied was very good and added to the experience.
It was the beginning of Crawfish season and I could not resist. The fish wholesale part of the business offered a Crawfish boil complete with sausage, corn and potatoes. Yum. It was early as I mentioned and the crawfish were small but I had not eaten any since last season so I was willing to suffer through.
My wife decided on the shrimp boil, all of the food was good. The spicy veggies are as good as the shrimp and crawfish. Photos prove my point.
Rosetti’s Cafe has a complete menu with specials each day. If you just want fish and chips or shrimp or other delights, just order at the counter. If you want to buy fresh fish and take it home to cook, that’s an option as well. They have freezers full of Cajun and Southern specialities as well.
The actual cafe is small. There are only a few tables so arrive early if you are there for lunch. There is outside seating which was not appealing at the time due to construction on the surrounding streets. Rosetta’s Cafe is located at 595 Division Street, Biloxi. If you are new to the area or will be arriving in the area, try Rosetti’s if you want to sample local seafood including shrimp, crab, oysters, crawfish etc. There are seasons for all seafood so do not be disappointed if you can not buy fresh crawfish in September.
As with all of our restaurant reviews, we received no compensation or free food. We have been back more than once so that has to tell you something. Please feel free to leave comments. Check out our other Mississippi Gulf Coast Restaurant reviews.
